Nice chub taken on stick float tactics by Elliott Boam today.

Great sport on the float, on the club’s stretch of River Derwent

Phil Smith Memorial Match results – River Derwent – 22nd December 2019

This charity match was fished on the top stretch of the River Derwent, at the back of Wyver Lane Pond.

The river was fishable but quite pacy and carrying a bit of colour, bites were at a premium, and it was pretty much a case if you got a bite, don’t miss it!

  • 1st – Tony Carline = 1lb 2oz
  • 2nd – Gary Wingfield = 6oz
  • 3rd – Adam Ingram = 4oz
  • 4th – Martin Jacques = 2oz

£40 was raised from todays match which is being donated to The Salvation Army.

Phil Smith memorial charity match – Sunday 22nd December.

River Derwent alongside the pond. Pools £15 (£10 sweepstake, £5 charity donation)

Draw @ 8am, Fish 9.30am to 2.30pm

Salmon caught from Belper in 2017 – UPDATE

River Derwent salmon caught from Belper 2017
from Belper & District Angling Club https://ift.tt/36cbFTM

SALMON caught from Belper!

Although we reported this capture over 18 months ago, we have only recently received full details and photo of the fish from the captor.

We can now confirm that a wild cock salmon was caught from the River Derwent at Belper in late 2017. One of the first first caught on rod & line in Derbyshire for over a Century! 😲

We’re lucky and honoured (not quite as much as the captor 😄) for this very special fish to have been caught from club waters.

Further info here.
