Fished on the Top stretch of the River Derwent, alongside the pond.
Results:
11 fished; all caught despite clear water and a strong upstream wind. Well done to everyone who took part. Next match Monday 6th July.
Our Monday evening river match series returns next week on the River Derwent at Belper.
Draws will be at 5pm in Wyver Lane Pond car park
Fish 6pm to 9pm.

Club regular Elliott Boam landed this brilliant mixed bag of bream, perch, roach & dace from the Derwent, on the first day of the 2020/21 season. 🎣
The top stretch river pegs in the pond field are all ready for the start of season on 16th June! Some great fishing in lovely surroundings.
There are 16 pegs to choose from, and a large variety of species are present: predominantly dace, roach, perch, grayling, trout and chub, along with the occasional carp, barbel, bream and ide.
Also Wyver Lane Pond is looking in great shape which is a testament to the hard work by our committee members and volunteers.
The undergrowth was strimmed, overhanging branches removed and pegs levelled off.
We now have 13 pegs fishable with scope to develop another 5 pegs in the coming months.

All members & day ticket anglers should be aware that the annual river close season is now in force, from midnight March 14th until June 16th.
The only way you can now fish our stretch of the Derbyshire Derwent is to fly fish for the trout. Local byelaws apply.
Of course, our members can still coarse fish Wyver Lane Pond and our stretch of the Erewash Canal whilst the rivers are closed, for our stocks of carp, silver fish, bream & tench.
Also, don’t forget to renew your EA Rod Licence, which may expire during the close season. It is a condition of fishing club waters that all anglers are in posession of a valid rod licence.
A lovely 2lb 4oz perch caught by Adam Ingram from the sewerage works section, using feeder with double maggot hookbait. Earlier in the session Adam had also taken some roach and dace. A quiet spell followed, then this cracking looking stripey graced his net.

This charity match was fished on the top stretch of the River Derwent, at the back of Wyver Lane Pond.
The river was fishable but quite pacy and carrying a bit of colour, bites were at a premium, and it was pretty much a case if you got a bite, don’t miss it!
£40 was raised from todays match which is being donated to The Salvation Army.
