2019 UPDATE
It is the understanding of the club that, regrettably, Alfreton Angling Centre will not reopen. It is a huge shame to lose another, long-established, tackle shop from the local area – and a local BDAC ticket outlet for residents of Alfreton.
If you wish to purchase a BDAC day ticket or annual membership permit from a tackle shop, please visit Rod & Line Tackle at Ripley, or Mill Tackle at Heanor. Contact and location details can be found on our Membership & Ticket Info page, along with alternative places you can purchase a Belper & District AC fishing permit.
[26th March 2018] This morning we heard the unfortunate news that Alfreton Angling Centre was seriously damaged by a fire in the shop, overnight.
For the time being, the shop will be closed. This is not only a blow for local anglers looking for quality tackle & bait on their way to our venues, it also means that the club has temporarily lost a permit & day ticket outlet.
John, who owns the tackle shop, has advised Rod & Line Tackle in Ripley about the situation and is advising his regular customers to shop at Rod & Line until Alfreton Angling is in a position to reopen.
Thankfully, Rod & Line Tackle are also an official Belper & District AC ticket outlet, so anyone in the Alfreton/Ripley area wishing to purchase a ticket can do so at Rod and Line. Contact and location details can be found on our Membership & Ticket Info page.
Please remember that all anglers must be in possession of a valid ticket when fishing club venues, as we do not issue day tickets or permits on the bank.
The club extends our deep sympathy with John and all involved in Alfreton Angling Centre. We hope the shop is back up & running as quickly as possible.
